I uploaded all of these pictures the other day and never finished posting any words! So, I'll make it quick and just get these up. The past month has been crazy yet again, but we are finally starting to feel back to "normal", at least normal for us. We were all getting back where life was before bedrest and babies and hospital stays and I ended up getting pneumonia! So many crazy things have been hitting us the past few months but somehow we don't feel like it's knocking us down. We know we've been blessed immensely through it all and are so greatful for how well things have turned out. I know one day we'll look back at this and wonder how we made it through it all, but it really hasn't been too big of a deal. The few months we went through building our house were FAR worse than all of this mess! The kids are all great, even our stinker Avery has turned a new leaf and is cheeful and sweet. Maeli couldn't be a better baby. She started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks! She is very mellow and just content with life. Abby and Caleb are so helpful and somehow life is easier with 4 kids! It sounds crazy, I know but it is so true for us. This sweet little baby has brought a better sense of balance to our lives and we are so happy to have her here. Anyways... I said I was going to be quick!
We blessed Maeli last month and got to spend a day or two with Grandmas and Grandpas. The kids loved every minute of it! It was so great to have our family here. Allen's mom made Maeli's blessing dress from far away, just guesstimating the measurements and it couldn't have fit her better. Isn't it gorgeous?!?!
While Grandma and Grandpa Luke were here we had an awesome lighting storm. The kids set the love sac up over in front of the window and they all cuddled up and watched the lights. It was pretty amazing.
Caleb and Grandpa ham it up pretty bad when they are together. They spent their time having nerf gun wars, teasing and tickling- almost to the point of no return!
It was a fun, but short weekend. We all had a great time and were happy everyone was able to make it.
We have received so much help from our friends over the past little while, especially the Huffakers. They have shown up countless times to just help out in any way and we are so greatful to have them in our lives. Our kids adore them and they are so good with them as well.
Anyways, Dave hurt his back a few weeks ago and we wanted to be able to help them out somehow, so for family night we headed over to help them with their garden. I don't know how much help we were, actually I know it wasn't much at all, but we had a blast doing it!
I know it was more of a hassle than a help, but we are glad they let us try. They fed us dinner and let the kids get right in there and help out. It was a great service opportunity for us all to do as a family and I know our kids got a lot out of it, even if the garden didn't. They are so good and patient with all of the craziness.
Avery has an obsession with 3 things in life- lipgloss, Courtni (her babysitter), and anything creepy crawly. She was tickled to find this worm wriggling in the dirt and couldn't keep her hands off of him. She'd dig him up and talk to him and tell him goodbye, and repeat it all again over and over and over. She is a funny little girl.
Caleb had his kindergarten musical and was super excited for his turn to shine. He's watched Abby's performances and games and now he is getting a taste for himself. It was fun to see him light up with the attention. We used to worry so bad about how quiet and shy he was, but he is really coming out of his shell and has made some great friends at school.
Avery and Dad were not so entertained for the evening so they were goofing off with the camera. Allen is asking through his clenched smile how much longer it can possibly last, but Avery is having a blast!
